The Route
To say our journey will be epic is a bit of an understatement- leaving the UK on July 18th 2009 we will travel through France, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and hopefully reach the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar on around August 20th, if we make it!
The mission will include all kinds of tough terrain such as deserts and mountain ranges, which we will need to prepare our chariot for in advance. We plan to make it rally worthy (basically protect the underneath and improve the wheels and tyres) and kit it out with some spotlights for travelling by night or in bad weather, plus some camping gear so we have somewhere to sleep should we get the chance!
